Comfort
Jaggery Hot Chocolate
What makes Comfort worth the shelf space.
Jaggery keeps its minerals
Refining strips sugarcane down to sucrose. Jaggery skips that step, so the iron, magnesium and potassium survive into your cup.
Slow-roasted cacao
Roasted for flavour development rather than throughput — which is why it tastes dark rather than sweet.
Creamy without dairy
Coconut milk powder does the mouthfeel. It works in hot water alone, and it is genuinely good with plant milk.
Where it comes from
Most hot chocolate is a delivery mechanism for sugar. We started from the other end: mineral-rich Belgaum jaggery for the sweetness, cacao from small cooperative farms slow-roasted for depth rather than speed, and coconut milk powder for a creaminess that needs no dairy. What comes out is darker, less cloying, and genuinely comforting.

All 4 ingredients, in descending order of weight exactly as printed on pack. Including the ordinary ones.

Jaggery Powder (unrefined)
natural sweetener
Refining strips sugarcane juice down to pure sucrose and discards everything else. Jaggery skips that step — evaporated cane juice, set and milled — so the iron, magnesium and potassium survive along with a molasses depth that white sugar simply does not have.

Coconut Milk Powder
creamy mouthfeel
The fat in coconut milk powder gives our hot chocolates the mouthfeel that would otherwise need milk — which is what lets them stand up in plain hot water and stay entirely plant-based.

Cinnamon Extract
warming spice note
Cinnamon extends the perception of sweetness, which lets a formulation use less sweetener overall. It also brings the warming quality that a cold-weather drink needs.

Vanilla Flavour (natural)
aromatic depth

Flavanols
Cacao carries flavanols associated with mood and blood flow — the reason a proper chocolate drink feels different from a sweet one.
Unrefined sweetness
Jaggery is evaporated cane juice, not crystallised sucrose, so it brings molasses depth and trace minerals alongside the sweetness.
Cinnamon as a rounder
A small amount of cinnamon extends the perception of sweetness, letting the blend use less of it overall.

About this blend
It is sweet, but noticeably less so than a commercial hot chocolate — jaggery brings a molasses depth rather than a sugar hit. Most people find one sachet in 180ml is the right balance; use 150ml if you want it richer.
Very well. Oat milk is the best match; almond works but thins it slightly. It also stands up on its own in plain hot water thanks to the coconut milk powder.
